Can I be anonymous?

Yes! All interviewees can choose to be anonymous upon publication of their interview transcripts. Personal information for all participants is stored on a secure server that can only be accessed by the Burek Initiative’s team.

What are you going to ask me?

We will send you our questions in advance as well as a pre-interview questionnaire where you can share specific topics you are or are not comfortable discussing. Please visit our Stories page to browse through published transcripts as this will give you the best idea of interview content and structure as well as the final product!

What’s the interview process?

Interviews can be conducted in English or in Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian as our entire team is fluent in both. Your interview will be recorded and then transcribed and sent back to you for revisions. You are able to add or remove any parts of the interview you wish. At the time, our team will ask for photos that you wish to share as part of your interview, but it’s also okay if you do not have any. After receiving feedback, we will translate the interview into both English and BCS and publish it on our Interviews page.

What if I say something that I don’t want published?

All participants have the opportunity to revise their interview transcripts before publication and can thus remove or add any details they want.
